Might this just be a stuff pack with otherworldly objects or something? Or maybe even foreign stuff... Oh how I miss the morrocan themed stuff from ts2. Used it in every other house!

Post Re: The Sixth Expansion!
IF they brought back Open For Business I'd want:

A) items that go through the decade (someone mentioned they are playing sims 2 1950's diner theme).
- Then again we would have CC's to make that possible.

B) More clothing/food/items to sell (I love food so the edible things we have now are pretty basic/simple).
- I'd also want to bring back the flower bouquet workshop, I loved it! It was a nice touch to my bakery.
- For people who open eateries or bakeries in order to be 'popular' for that week they can read the paper/internet/gossip to see what foods sims are in the mood for. If your cook has learned recipes from Egypt, China, or France can serve the dishes as well and some sims will pay more in the end for receiving the meal.
- Clothing stores have more designs/objects/clothing racks for sims to browse and buy. You can train your employees to persuade them to purchase a certain item.
- Toy store (would fit into Ambitions, plus the crazy amount of CC toys I've seen it would be an awesome addition)!
- Functioning pet store (when Pets is released) that we can sell pet items and pets themselves (like in sims 2).

C) NO RABBITHOLES! We design our own lots and watch sims interact and all that good stuff.

I only see OFB rehash highly unlikely because of the rabbitholes. Stupid rabbitholes.
I can see work places/jobs, but not eateries or shops/stores! :stare:

I just want seasons already, it would complete the game in my opinion. EA is really starting to annoy me with this "new idea" crap. It will just be WA all over again.

Say what!?! My male sims miss being abducted! And and if they can go to space they can meet their baby daddies. Well at least consciously. Just kidding. :P

Yeah space would be weird. :l I like shazoka's idea about a cool OFB remake though!

The best thing I liked about OFB was how completely open-ended it was. You could sell pretty much anything. I've had magic stores, pet stores, lawn ornament stores... there wasn't a finite number of stores you could operate, and each different business was unique in its own little way. If EA do decide to bring back businesses, I hope they're as open ended as they were in TS2. Hell, you could even make a store where all you sold was toy robots.

Post Re: The Sixth Expansion!
Doesn't EVERY expansion for the sims involve another aspect of life for our sims?

There wouldn't be a point to the expansion if it didn't expand on our sims lives....

As for "life in another format". That is quite an unusual comment to make. Will it involve space stations and alien planets. It would be pretty neat to have some sort of a spore/mass effect style locations to go to and become a captain of a fleet and go on missions. So your sims would live on a spaceship....could be like star trek sims style. :yeah: I think EA did mention something about an alien ep once in a poll so it's not like they haven't thought about it. The ep could have a strong Sci Fi/Future Technology theme to it.

Although some sim fans might go crazy (in the negative direction) if this was included I personally think it would be awesome.

Obviously the creature for such an ep would be the alien.....but it would probably be a bit more creative and strange than the sims 2 aliens. Probably something heading more in the direction of a spore creature but still humanoid. (so they can impregnate the men again :p)

Second idea for "life in another format". Maybe it'll be an ep that takes an even broader view on sim life. Like some sort of joining of sim city and the actual sims 3 game. Maybe we'll get to be president of a sim state (with multiple sims 3 neighborhoods under it) Although that might be expecting too much.

It's hard for me to imagine them doing some kind of noir sims or some ep that involves gritty elements like gangsters and detectives. They sort of have that covered in ambitions (sorta)

Black Background with white lettering..........I don't know but there's two vibes I get from that description:

Space/Alien Worlds
TV/Movies/Acting (I dunno it just seems fitting)

What it doesn't say either is University, Seasons, Freetime,
It most certainly doesn't say OFB to me....or even generations 2.0. A black background seems like a sort of morbid/dark colour for another family themed ep don't you think? A black background is most unusual...it doesn't really seem fitting of any type of expansion we've had before. (except possibly Superstar or some sort of House party style ep. It could also say Makin Magic....but we've had some magic items recently, although depending on how you want to look at it that could make a makin magic ep more or less likely.)

I'm hoping for something radical and new but I'm not that hopeful. None of the "new" expansions for the sims 3 have really made me go wow. However I remember University, Open For Business and Seasons really getting me excited and surprised when they were first announced.

Here's how I feel about it: I think space is a fun, fresh idea but in application in the Sims 3 I would not like it. Why? Recuse I don't want another place to "send" my sim. I like WA alright but I don't enjoy sending my sims on vacation all the time. I play families and in my eyes anything that breaks that isn't much use to me. When I send sims on vacation I can't take my babies or toddlers and I don't take my child age sims because there's nothing for them to do. So with that I'd enjoy a OFB thing more. Then I could make restaurants to send my families for dinner or toy stores to have my kids buy toys or maybe other venues like bowling alleys or ice cream shops.

But I do want alien abductions back so yeah XD

I don't think that I would mind a space themed EP but I do think that it would be wrong to release it as the 6th EP. If EA wants to do a sci-fi or magical themed EP, I'd be game but those types of EPs should be saved for last. Right now a seasons EP is long over-due; and also some players are getting antsy about not having walk-in, non-rabbithole stores which would create consumers for an OFB remake.

If I was in charge of everything, I would release a Seasons EP next followed by an OFB and a Uni remake. Then the last EP would be a new idea or a fantasy/sci-fi themed EP. Sure the whole Remake EP --> New Idea EP pattern keeps things fresh but then we have to wait forever for something that we really want to come along.

a space EP might seem good in theory, but you have to think of how EA approaches their EP's and how they work, i think a space EP could have worked with the way they did the sims 2 EP's, but not with the sims 3's format.

I have to say, Generations was a really whack EP IMHO. I am constantly forgetting that I even have it because theres really not much you do with it. I'm not gonna say it was a waste of money but it definitly was a rush job throw together EP. Makes me wonder if Pets was orginally slated for Spring but they wanted to take their time with it.

I haven't indugled into all the ins and outs about Pets yet because I wanna explore it all myself, however it does seem in terms of gameplay this will be one of the best EP's yet. I don't have WA but heard it's pretty much whack anyhow from everyone, lol.

I am really interested in what EP will be next myself. I am hoping for something new to the series in general that we haven't had before that isn't absolute junk. IMO, it appears that Ambitions and Generations are let downs. Isn't WA the worst selling EP since the series started?

People on the Sims 3 forums have been hinting at maybe a vegas style EP may be up. This might be a good idea if it were like "resort life" or something where we could get a bunch of new things to do with our Sims. Something that takes them out of the house and into the world to do more than they can at home. Maybe they can introduce real hotels, casinos, boats, etc. Something really different and exciting for the series.

I mean I have 3 EP's and the base game and I feel like the game is naked. :/

It sucks, really. I feel as though Generations was their backup EP, made alongside the game. I'm sure that Horses took A LOT of effort to add in, on top of the other pets that look FANTASTIC!

I'm really excited for the next EP too. According to pattern, it should be a new idea. I have no idea what it could be, but I hope it brings awesome gameplay! I personally don't think it'll be vegas style. Late Night was their chance for that, and they didn't do it. It sounds like a really good idea though!

The vegas hinting thing is actually the new store sets that are vegas themed, so that puts that out, also I agree with what swat said about late night being their chance to do that.

Well, to figure out what the 6th EP will be, we would have to go on a scavenger hunt for clues in Pets! I'm guessing it will be hidden in pictures and children's toys (etc...)

The only thing I hated about Generations is those darn memory notifications  It's terrible for machinima

You can turn off the memory notifications. I loathe them. I like Generations' features but think it was definitely a half-baked expansion pack. It should have AT LEAST included Hidden Springs and had fewer rabbit holes, like the stupid prom.

 I did that from the options setting, it just reduced the amount of memory notifications but it doesn't completely get rid of the symbol over their heads, even with the hideheadlineeffects on cheat  I haven't tried the mod yet, so that will be my next step.

I feel like the hints are only for after they are released... I mean, any thought bubble could pop up. Actually, I take it back, that doesn't apply to suddle things like the Paw print that was on the Magic gnome.

Post Re: The Sixth Expansion!
In all honesty, I want Seasons next. I hate the Sims with out it. I knew I would when I first installed Sims 3 I said "prepare for it". To my suprise, I was halfway satifisfied with the fact that the sky is nicely done and it's not always just sunny. I like the variation in cloud patterns (Especially since I'm an Atmospheric Geek) and I love the weather/visual effects in Twinbrook/Bridgeport. It's almost like a tease like "It's coming". It's to be assumed it will happen but because they built this game on such low specs for the series (very silly IMO) they are waiting untill further in the series so it doesn't cause issues. We all know how Seasons rocked so may peoples worlds in the Sims 2. You need the power to run all this.

However, I have... and always will be in love with the idea of a Space EP. While I totally respect alot of your guys views on this, I would be estatic if it happened. ESTATIC. But like someone here mentioned it would have to come hard, not like Generations. I think it would be epic as well especially with the realism of the "Worlds" themselves. I could just imagine what they could come up with. They would have to come hard if they did that like Pets with a new town and new rabbit holes to make these places truely unique. Can't have the SV Theater on a distant planet or moonbase. LOL.

I just imagine a big glass dome over this town that is based on the moon with only the view of the moons terrain in the distance outside of the dome and we could build inside this "dome" as we wish. (Realisitic gameplay idea) and then everything you'd use in conjunction with Sims 3 base build tools can be decorated ultra modern like a moon town would probably be. LOL Instead of a moon rising and setting you'd see "Sim Earth" rising and setting. EP-IC. :ahh:

Conversely, for those of you who disagree, mind you I wouldn't WANT a magic EP but I would purcahse it and take one for the team :)

I'm really happy for Pets. I can't wait! But that does anything we knew and loved from Sims 3 won't come out til this time next year... ugh. Maybe EA will break the pattern they have... I'd love it.
