Questions about uninstalling a previous expansion pack
Hi, question for you all. I have TS3 base game, Late Night, Generations, and now Pets. Things run generally very well, but the startup takes forever and I'm wondering if uninstalling Late Night would help at all, plus frankly I've gotten tired of the celebrity and vampire stuff and don't want it in my game any more. Can I just uninstall it even thought I've installed Gen and Pets since? Will my saved games work? Obviously, I know the saved game in the LN neighborhood will be gone but that's OK. Never did care for Bridgeport. Thanks.

No, your saved games will no longer worked. They now require the expanison packs you have.
Have you pondered other options? It very well could be your computer's fault rather than the game's: Have you taken steps to clean your computer out? Update drivers... Anit-Virus? Get rid of old things? Also, do you have full specs for the game?

Re: Questions about uninstalling a previous expansion pack
Thanks for the answer. Yes, I've considered all the other things you've mentioned. My computer is fairly new and surpasses all the specs, drivers are good, etc. I just cleaned out the Bridgeport cache that was in my Late Night folder on my hard drive, so maybe that will help. The game runs great, but the load time, uff da. I go away from my computer for 5-10 minutes and do something else while it loads!

Re: Questions about uninstalling a previous expansion pack
The load times are indeed long, they always kind of seemed to be. Though considering that Sims 3 loads an entire world instead of just a single lot, it's kind of expected. It shouldn't be something too bothering, unless you're changing worlds often, or quiting and playing several times in a day. I usually just pause the game and alt tab if I want to do something else for abit, unless I need the ram for something more important
You could try defraging your hard drive. It'll allow your computer to find files easier and quicker. If your hard drive is full, that could also slow it down. Other than that, only a faster CPU will make the most difference
