Post Two copies of Pets in one box...What do?
Today I finally got around to picking up my copy of Pets,

I went to an unfamiliar EB Games, looked around for the ever shrinking rack of PC games,
To my surprise they still had the Limited Edition, so I picked it up and brought it to the cash.
Every thing seemed fairly normal.

I arrived home, and opened the case,
It was filled with more adverts than previous EPs.

The time came to install, I fished around the pile of adverts to find 2 installation manuals.
At first I figured living à la frontière du Québec, the second was probably in French.
To my surprise, it was full second English manual with a second seeming legit serial code.

To sum things up,
I bought a retail copy of The Sims 3 Pets with 2 serial codes, and one disc.

What should I do?

You're sure it's not the promotion code for the pet shop stuff?

This is true. Technically you'd get 4 registration codes then.

But the promotion code is the number you register with... or at least in my copy it was.

This is what you do, you choose the one you like best, use that to install it. THEN you sell the other one... there are probably people who would pay you for it :P

I think the sort of people who would buy the code are the same ones who would steal the game outright so I doubt anyone would actually buy it.

I'm thinking more the desperate ones that don't understand what a torrent is yet :3

Getting two code is nice haha if it's true. My sister bought Sims 3 + Pets for my nephew and his codes didn't work. I tried installing myself and they didn't work.

I'd agree but what is someone going to do with a serial code with no game disc? Let's face it if you didn't buy the game you're other alternative is to get it illegally whether it be a torrent or not. Surely, people who torrent are smart enough to search google and find a serial code.

Oh wait unless it's one of those dumb people who lost their paper with the code. I could see someone being dumb enough to buy another code.

You can register the game and download it through Origin since you apparently have proof of the game (a.k.a the serial code).

I've seen them. Haven't you seen them?
I'm searching something technical about my sims disk/installation and I find a yahoo answers questions or something asking someone to just let them have their serial code.
Having a serial code that isn't being used might have good value... that's all.
Personally, I'd just keep it in a safe place in case I lost mine. :P

Oh. I wanted to download Origin for him. But I was being rushed and I just wanted to get it done so I snagged a code from teh interwebs. It's not like he's ever going to update or get CC and his parents won't do it because they won't be able to figure it out. And really, he'll probably quit playing because it's over his head.

Some people buy the serial codes so they can install off someone elses disk. If you have 2 disks and 2 manuals I would suggest selling them on ebay.

Post Re: Two copies of Pets in one box...What do?
I have a similar story. When I bought Generations, I realized the manual/code that came with it was for Outdoor Living Stuff. I never buy stuff packs cause I really don't think they are worth money considering you can download free custom content. But if I were to buy a stuff pack, that is the one I would've chose. So I copied down the code and exchanged Generations for a new copy (with the correct code) lol Not my fault that EA packed the wrong manual in the box :P
