EA and Maxis Working on a Sims Styled Game!!
According to SimsVIP! Quote: 3DGames has reported that EA and Maxis have teamed up to create a “Sims Styled Game”. There isn’t any info on what type of game, but the LinkedIn profiles of several EA employees, mention an unannounced project in collaboration with Maxis studio California. Could this be Sims 4? A Sims expansion? A standalone game?
Check out the LinkedIn cuts and profiles of these EA employees, provided by Rincon Del Simmer.
Micha Noordegraafs – Visual Effects Artist
Electronic Arts – Bright Light Studio 2003-Present day
Project: Maxis Style Sim Game PC (Currently unannounced)
Position: CG Supervisor
Kim Hughes – Interface Designer
Additional Responsibilities - Directed and delivered commercial artwork for Spare Parts, working with marketing, publishing, video editors and executive staff. Created Spare Parts logo, custom EA logo and PSN/ XBLA marketing assets.
Titles - 2011 Unannounced Maxis IP
Matthew Thomson, CG Supervisor
Recently I have been working on developing the VFX pipeline and assets for an unannounced game in collaboration with the EA Maxis Studio in California.
I hope Maxis is back into the Sims Series again and stop EA from making this bullshit Expansions all the time!! maybe they are working on Weather for Sims 3?? i hope so or maybe SimCity 5??

Re: EA and Maxis Working on a Sims Styled Game!!
Hopefully Maxis has been hired to please the fans. When I say please the fans, I mean get all the lost support back by bringing back the company that we've missed. If it is an expansion pack, then it's totally great for business and we get the company that we've been longing for c:

Re: EA and Maxis Working on a Sims Styled Game!!
Although I have high hopes for it being The Sims 4, I don't think EA would give the franchise back to Maxis, even though Maxis are apart of EA etc etc. What I mean is, EA are milking The Sims for all it's worth, and I know we're all holding out for a miracle with The Sims 4, I don't think EA are going to scupper their chances to making as much money as they can from a less than acceptable standard of game, a la, The Sims 3.

Re: EA and Maxis Working on a Sims Styled Game!!
Doesn't it just mean that EA and Maxis are collaborating to make the next Sims game more like the old ones by Maxis? With the way it's worded it sounds like the Sims 4, but it could be SimCity 5. Or maybe something new. Either way, glad Maxis is apart of it.

Re: EA and Maxis Working on a Sims Styled Game!!
I hope and pray that it's Sims 4 they're working on. Now that social fanatic Ron Hubble is out of the way, maybe EA/Sims Team can get back to actual Sim basics. I never knew what everyone meant about the Sims 3 being lackluster; I always thought "but look at the gorgeous towns! look at the great visuals of the sky" yeah, blah. They don't make up for the seeminly lacking gameplay. Sims 2 I could sit and play for hours upon hours and Sims 3 I'm over it within a few hours.
I can't put my finger on it just yet, but something is seriously lacking in Sims 3. ITs as if we had to go 3 steps back to go one step further (as in opening up the world). I mean we're on EP 6 and there's still TONS of stuff missing from 2. Some things should just be standard in the base game by now.
Hopefully 4 comes with a downtown and the whole "Hot date, Late Night, Nightlife" theme and weather. I can see Pets having to be an expansion still, but the rest? C'mon allready.

Weather Weather Weather. But I'm sensing a whole new direction for The Sims 4. A new type of gameplay. A drastic change. Something that you won't bother comparing to the lack of compared to The Sims 2 or The Sims 3. Kind of like Sims Freeplay (this is a very stretched comparison). Yeah, it lacks just about every feature The Sims has ever had, but the realtime and control of everyone kinda goes over that and makes it not matter. Yadig?

Re: EA and Maxis Working on a Sims Styled Game!!
Maxis is announcing their next project at GDC 2012!! Quote: EA has promised an announcement from Maxis next month - and sparked speculation that a brand new SimCity game is in the works. EA will livestream a Game Developers Conference event on 6th March, and promised an announcement from the developer behind Spore, The Sims and the SimCity series. The stream begins at 2am UK time on 6th March. After EA set its Game Changers countdown website live, EA PR Erik Reynolds tweeted: "MORE INFO! EA Maxis GDC announcement, huge event w/ special guests." Then, on the Game Changer Facebook page: "How can we change the world together? Find out when EA hosts the Game Changers event at GDC. What would you do if you had the power to change the world?" The power to change the world? Hmm... Maxis' last title was 2011 Spore spin-off Darkspore. Its last entry in the main SimCity series was SimCity 4, which launched nine years ago in 2003. Is it ready to take the lid off SimCity 5? Sourch: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012- ... mcity-talk sound like it will be SimCity5 :D hopefully

Re: EA and Maxis Working on a Sims Styled Game!!
While it is nice seeing the possibility of Maxis returning to The Sims. I have to wonder if they still are the same ol' Maxis from the days of The Sims 1, early Sims 2, and SimCity 4 era.
I'm already a little worried about SimCity 5.
