 Sims 3 Pets Freezing
I just installed the sims 3 pets and I've never had this problem before. My game now will work for a decent amount of time then it just freezes. It tends to freeze when I click to interact with my pets or if I click on the pets themselves in the side panel trying to control them. The game freezes to the fact that I can't even exit it or anything I have to completly shut down my whole computer. I tried re-starting the game thinking it was a one time thing but yet again it keeps happening randomly. Any suggestions? Thanks!

 Re: Sims 3 Pets Freezing
My game has been doing that too, except mine tends to freeze when I go to Map View, or a community lot. I try and save my game every time I go to a community lot, but then I get there and it freezes right after. I'm reinstalling all games to see if that helps. It's such a bummer. Good luck.

 Re: Sims 3 Pets Freezing
I just complained about this in another thread, but my game is also freezing, which has never happened before. So far I've noticed it only happening when my sims go to sleep, and then it goes to 3x speed. Usually I'm able to play for several hours with no problems at all. I've also noticed the game taking up way more ram than I remember it taking, but the only way I could really compare is if I re-install everything before Pets and Generations (I picked up Generations when I got Pets) I thought it might have been a one time thing as well, but now it's happened again, and I fear it's going to keep happening

I think it's custom content. That's the only explaination if you ask me.

 Re: Sims 3 Pets Freezing
I uninstalled everything, then reinstalled The Sims 3 and only Pets, and it still freezes when I try and go to a community lot. I have absolutely no custom content. It just doesn't make sense. I can't even experience Pets entirely. Gah. And the thing that's weird, is it won't allow me to minimize my game on my Mac using Alt-Tab. And also, when I try click command-option-esc(force quit), it quits before the screen even shows up. Something's not right.

It's not custom content
I am actually able to alt tab my game when it freezes, it doesn't completely lock the system. I can alt tab out and even back in. When going through task manager to end the task, I can see that it's eaten a rather large chunk of ram. Both times it has frozen it has done this

 Re: Sims 3 Pets Freezing
Yesterday I played my game for a while and it didn't freeze. So after feeling very relieved, I decided to test my luck and buy a horse. I went to the equestrian center to do this, but it froze so fast before the pictures of them could even load. I think I've realized what my problem is...horses. In CAS I can't create a horse without it freezing. I can't go to the Equestrian center. I saw a wild horse run past my screen so I scrolled to see it and it froze. This sucks. Anyone know why this is?

 Re: Sims 3 Pets Freezing
Sounds like something might have gotten corrupted with your hoses maybe? Perhaps try re-installing pets My freezing issue seems to be completely random and have yet to be able to pinpoint the cause. The last time it froze, it was using less memory than it usually was, so now I'm not sure if it's a ram issue or not. Though I somehow managed to unfreeze my game after I alt tabbed a few times, and it hasn't frozen again since (yet anyway). It also happened during 3x speed again. That's the only common factor I have with my freezes So that's 3 freezes I've had so far, which might not sound like many, but compared to having none prior to Pets, it's still very upsetting, especially if you don't save often

 Re: Sims 3 Pets Freezing
I can no longer seem to play my favorite household in Appaloosa Plains. It worked for a long time and now whenever I try to change to that household in the map view, the game freezes and I can't do anything but quit it altogether. All other households, including others with horses, seem to work fine.

 Re: Sims 3 Pets Freezing
I have this problem too, only with pets. I waited for showtime, in the hope that if I installed Showtime, the error of pets would be gone. But now I have Showtime I tried, and it doesn't make any difference at all. I mostly have this problem when I'm on the map or doing something with the pets I really wanted to adopt a horse, but it's impossible to even get out of the adoption screen without the freezing. I am probably going to uninstall Pets (the coolest expansion pack :() and hope that Showtime doesn't give errors too.
My operating system is windows xp, I don't know if that could be the problem... Maybe it's just too old xD Also, I'm having the same thing with the memory, it's using so much memory,I can't remember The sims using that much of memory O.O
also, out of all animals, it's mostly the horses that bring errors... :/
