Amazon is pretty accurate with their products so I don't doubt them... Offtopic: And the real kick in the nuts is when EA releases this, they'll say that they "listened" to the players.

Re: The Sims 3 Supernatural: Rumor & Discussion Thread
It's not really that much of a surprise considering a magic-themed expansion has been hinted at since Showtime. I do like that the title suggests more than just magic - the creatures that we've gotten so far are kind of lame compared to some of the ones from TS2 so it would be nice to see a return of werewolves or witches or zombies.
Seasons is definitely in the works somewhere along the line, EA would have to be completely stupid not to do it, and there's files in the game that all point to weather coming up soon.

Everyone has been saying that a season's EP is just around the corner. But in reality, it's been 3 years since the release of TS3. At this point I feel like it's straight up disrespect to leave files in the game and not follow-up with them by now. And ontop of that, they release shitty, and I mean shitty EP's to string us along. I doubt it's taking them 3 years to fully develop an EP.

Re: The Sims 3 Supernatural: Rumor & Discussion Thread
well i kinda guessed they would go with the Magic trend and not Seasons... :/ it better be like Makin Magic and not some shitty Ep like all the others for Sims 3 except for Pets :/ also i think they're doing remakes of Sims 1 Ep's, the latest 2 and this new one is the last 3 for sims 1 :S
This is the orde for the last 3 Ep's for Sims 1.
Unleashed Superstars Makin Magic
the latest 2 and the upcoming one for Sims 3.
Pets Showtime Supernatural
you see what i mean? xD

Re: The Sims 3 Supernatural: Rumor & Discussion Thread
Nooo... Noooo... Noooooo!!!!! I hate EA now. They do not care about the well-being of this series at all. Only the maximum amount of profit they can make. I'm not referring to this EP itself, but the fact that it delayed Seasons yet again. (Although it doesn't help that this EP is a horribly lame idea, and I have absolutely no interest in it.) Seasons is not the kind of EP that you put off for last. It just isn't. The nature of the feature should really have it in the base game. But if you're going to be greedy and release it in an EP, at least get it out as one of the first EPs. Now we're going to have Seasons a very short time, only to have it take right back away with The Sims 4. I am so burned out of this series now. EA has no clue how to handle this series or its features. They only know how to get money. I know they're a business, but you've at least got to make it seem like you care about your customers. EA has officially failed to do so. The Sims 3 is the worst example of greed I have personally seen in video gaming. Everything is all about milking every last bit of money out of us. EVERYthing.

Hmm. I feel like Supernatural has the potential to be VERY good though! Seasons can wait! (don't lynch me please)

The good news is that I'll be saving $40 because I have no interest in Supernatural.

Re: The Sims 3 Supernatural: Rumor & Discussion Thread
I'm actually somewhat interested in this idea, and IF it ends up around Pets' quality level, then I'll buy it. Still, Seasons should have been released way earlier and this should have been released instead of Generations.

I still believe that generations was meant to be seasons. It would have been the perfect example of the passing of time. But they removed it for later release. That is why there are so many weather themed activities.

I feel the same way I feel that EA is not listening to their customers at all. I feel all they want to do is make a profit. and sense EA is not listening to my request I'm not buying anymore Sims points from the Sims store or anymore EP or games until I get some weather. Keep my money in my pocket. .

Ever heard of MATY where you can get all Store items for free? ever heard of Piratebay where you can download Sims 3 games? that's what i do because i won't ever support the Store or bad EP's. This Supernatural EP i might get but Showtime? never it's not worth it for me, but it's worth a download xD

Re: The Sims 3 Supernatural: Rumor & Discussion Thread
Long time lurker here but...
... am I that odd for having wished for something akin to a Supernatural-themed expansion pack since so long? Admitedly, we know nothing of it yet, but when you think about all the "occult" creatures in the Sims 3 and the Sims 2 before it, I couldn't help but feel it was almost due time for an expansion pack focusing on those aspects.
Somehow, I'm tempted(and hope, I'll admit) to say this one should have werewolves at it's critter this time around. Which, with all the new mechanics added for occult sims in the Sims 3(one only need to compare Sims 2's vampire with Sims 3's for one of the best example), it would be interesting what they would do with something like werewolves.
Or maybe that with an EP specifically focused on the supernatural we'll get not one but two supernatural creatures(werewolves and vampires(thus available through a second EP like Zombies were in Sims 2) or maybe werewolves and zombies(though they would have to get a lot of changes to not being thought of as "mummies without them bandages"... perhaps inspiring themselves more from Zombie movies with the infectious plague).
Or maybe it could be a second World Adventure-like expansion, but this time with supernaturally themed vacantions neighborhood(TranSIMvania anyone?)
In anyway, I could see this as a great opportunity to bring back some of the more supernatural aspects of past Sims game through both objects(like that one hotline to the grim reaper item to bring back deceased Sims) and else.

I feel exactly the opposite. They can continue to put in the creatures on the side for those who like that kind of stuff, but it should always remain a side feature. It has no business being an entire EP.

Exactly... Especially considering that they could still give us universities, open restaurants/business, FUCKING SEASONS/WEATHER, and a multitude of other things before magic.

Re: The Sims 3 Supernatural: Rumor & Discussion Thread
I agree with ludov. I think the Supernatural EP will be a repeat AND rehash of everything great about any magic aspect of past games. If they bring back Magictown (or whatever it's called)... now that'd be amazing. But that also seems very "Showtime" ish.
Let's have a status check. Bolded are repeated ideas.
World Adventures Ambitions Late Night Generations Pets Showtime
Let's continue our list.
Supernatural Original Idea Seasons Original Idea
That's how I think this game will end out. There have been more than one pointers to 10 expansion packs. And what have previous games had? 7 or 8? So even if theres only 9, that saves Seasons to be savored last. I know most people were really under appreciative with Generations and Showtime. But they could really end this series off with a HUGE bang. Think of all the things Seasons could bring. And supernatural even!
