Seasons 7 December

Welcome to The next expansion pack which is official called Seasons. EA's Sims Division invited a small group of fan sites and reps to their headquarters in Redwood City, California. Snootysims was part of the event, and got a first look at this Seasons expansions Pack for the PC. Most of the pictures are not actual screenshots but pictures taken from a Cannon Digital Camera that hates monitors. The quality is not really in high resolution as the actual game is. We noticed some things in the game that needed tuning and adjusting which we were told will be totally fixed on shipment. Most of the pictures taken should be in the game since they are near completion but you never know they might remove something or add more. Please note that we noticed some "text placements" and "missing icons" because this is for localization team to finish up since it was early in that process. They added lots of new features that the fans wanted like 'pay bill all at once'. Here is the front cover Now the promo shots

Introduction

The next installment of expansion packs of the Sims 2 on PC is going to be Seasons. It evolves around changing of seasons by winter, fall, summer and spring. For the first time ever we get to see the changing of weather on all lots including community lots. Ea always wanted to do weather back in the beginning but had some trouble with the roofing. But now they have fixed that and by fixing that, every object we place outside will have weather. Meaning snow will be on top of all objects including Custom Created ones. New Neighborhood and Their Families

We get 1 new neighborhood with a group of strangers living there. It is called Riverblossom Hills which is the one all the fans got to play within. Here is the Viejo. It's a group of older people that just love gardening around their house. Here is the O'Mackey. His wife left him to become a pirate. It's taking Gabe awhile to ever trust his wife again with all the relationships that's going on in their household. Maybe they can figure out their problems and begin to love and trust one another again. Here is the Greenman. It's a husband and wife team with a little Baby. This is one of the best families because Jason changed his entire lifestyle to fit around this lady. Somehow this lady became green but their love for one another was so great that Jason began changing everything it lived for. This green girl well, she's so special. Because she does not have the exact needs as any other sim. It's a secret char you get by gardening. As you notice, she's like the Open For Business Servo/Robot where she needs sunlight. Her other needs are love and water.

Here is what the New features look like

On top of the modes is the changing of Seasons. There are always going to be four Seasons. You can choose whichever one you want through the Neighbourhood Screen by clicking the Plant Icon. On the right of the simmy body you notice a blue meter. That's your weather meter for your sim. If it is too cold and they are in their underwear guess what? They can freeze. In CAS, they added a very nice feature that lets you set the changing hair style, so if you go to work with short hair and you want long hair for work. Well now you have that option. So now you don't have to go to the mirror everytime you want to change your style to your hair. They are still going to change some of this feature by the menus and things. During the time I got to play with it, it overwelmed even me and I asked questions and it will be more simple. There's also a new learning icon. It looks like a leaf if you can tell. The animation caught my eye.

The changing of the Weather and It's side effects

As you are aware the name seasons means seasonal welcomes. Well the Maxoids really caught our eyes when they showed what this is all about. Well when you create your neighborhood you can choose what season you want to have. You can have all winter, or a mix of any season you like. But be careful since the seasons all have a certain effect on your sims needs as well. After you pick your seasons, the time it changes is between 5 to 6 sim days. Whatever seasons you choose is all up to you. Here's a table of the effects towards your sims means. Friends Spent time with your friends Summer Family Hang out with your Family in Doors Winter Working Want to work harder Fall Dating All the romance is up in the air Spring But what if you just want to change the weather effects to hail, rain, snow, or a clear sky? Well we have the Weather Machine that everybody wanted. But it's an aspiration reward that needs 7000 points. It had some problems staying or not changing the weather but on ship it will be all fixed for everybody. All the seasons have really nice effects that effect our simmies. So watch them. There's a calender you can check to get a heads up on the weather. Read the paper to know if the weather will take a dive the next day. There is light snow to very heavy snow just like for rain. So please plan your day accordingly. The clothes you wear has a huge impact on everything you do outdoors. There's a new outwear category so we can change our clothes to fit the outdoors perfectly. Make sure you dress well because you can freeze to death. So make sure somebody is there near you with a blowdryer to heat your body up. Yes I froze that lady nearly to death. She just stands there doing nothing but shaking. This is what happens when you forget to change to outwear using the dresser or the new coat hanger. If you leave your child out in the cold for way to long you get a very nice message from the game. So if you are a parent that loves freezing your kids, please think about it. So when it rains and you have the Pets expansion pack, your animals will get super scared and shake. But you will shake when you hear and see all the lightning effects in the game. Some of the Maxoids told us that it was even more scary before that version we played with. There is a lightning rod pole but do not attempt to use it or something dangerous will happen. Me and a few people noticed.

Things to do while in Season - Summer and Winter

There's tons of fun to do during the different Seasons. Now it's Summer. You can have fun playing in the pool Here you see that they gave us rounded pool shapes for all the pool building you can come up with. Here's some fun I was doing. I placed the slide on the rounded corner to test if we can use the corner. We can use it very well. Other then sliding into the pool. There is a cool game you can play inside of the pool. Here's a fun game they added called Marco/Polo but when you hear what they say it will be funny. Alittle egg towards a well known person that helped with Sims. Amother thing was that the kids loved playing in the puddle . Now lets move on to Winter . Here's kids having a little water fight. Try doing that during the winter. I did and it was pretty funny. No picture tho. They added lots of interactions for our simmies to enjoy.   As you notice, she's building a snowangel. And yes that is footprints you see as well. The snow can get very thick and deep at times. There's a very nice transition going on between seasons that needs fine tuning as you can see in the second picture. Before going outside please be sure you change into outwear. The next picture is a guy building a snowman. Depending on your personality your simmy will create a happy snowman or a mean looking one. I created a mean one by help of a Maxoid. Just to give it some flavor. The greenman family loves hanging out with their daughter outside and the wife loves her flower picking for a "certain" reason. As you notice, snow if falling lightly but it does fall really hard at times. Want a cup of hot cocoa well now you can. The secret NPC happens during winter when you buy something. It has to trigger this npc.
